Hand Crafted Woodwear From The Villages Of Malawi

Malawi Craftsmen have long been trained and acknowledged as producing some of the best wood products on the African continent. Each item is hand made and reflects the skills of these great craftsmen.


1. Carved Chair (ref: MC 1895)

Made by the craftsmen of the villages of Mwanza and is a typical Malawian chair with a full length carved back made from Mianjc Cedar, depicting typical animal or flower scenes. It is a surprisingly comfortable and strong piece of furniture.

2. Carved Table (ref: MC 1795)

Made by the craftsmen of the village of Mwanza. This table made from ebony has a table top which is reversible with different scenes either side. The legs are fashioned from a single piece of wood and is foldable.

3. Carved Chest (ref: MC 1995)

Beautifully made from Mlanje cedar being fully carved on all sides and top. Optional lift out tray avalable. Made by craftment of the village Childmoni.

4. Candle Stick (ref: MC 1595)

Beautifully made from ebony by the village crafsmen of Linzu. Locally made candles also available to compliment this product.


5. Wine Challis (ref: MC1695)

Made of ebony by the villagers of Lunzu.

Size 6", Diameter 2.5"


6. Carved Comb (ref: MC 0195)

Made from ebony to typical Malawian design.


7. Fruit / Salad Bowl (ref: MC 2095)

Carved with animal scenes around the outside periphery. Made from ebony. Carved spoon and fork are also available.

Diameter 12", depth 2.5"


8. Carved Sugar Bowl (ref: MC 0295, 0395)

Made from ebony to typical Malawian design by Liwonde craftsmen.

Sizes 3" - 5" diameters


9. Plain Sugar Bowls (ref: MC 0495, 0595)

Beautifully finished in ebony by craftsmen of the villages of Lunzu. Complete with tops and of various sizes.


10. Carved Elephant (ref: MC 1095, 1195, 1295, 1395, 1495)

Made in various sizes from ebony by craftsmen from Lunzu.

11. Carved Crocodiles (ref: MC 0695, 0795, 0895, 0995)

Made by the craftmen of Liwonde. Beautifully made from ebony in various sizes.

Craft Aid is run on minimum overheads to provide maximum profits, all of which are used on projects in Africa. Working with existing charities and donating organisations in the countries concerned to bring fresh clean water to alleviate water borne diseases and hunger by improving existing cultivation skills with low technology techniques.
