Urgent Famine Appeal

Urgent Help Needed

The little Orphan Home, ‘Agape’ run by Rev. Fletcher and Clara Kaiya is home to 15 children from various backgrounds. The HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa has devastated families there and it is estimated that there is nearly 700,000 orphans in Malawi. Many of the children the Kaiya’s look after are as a result of this epidemic. To date ‘Agape’ has mainly been funded by a UK based charity , with Seedsowers Trust having a small input. The Kaiya’s have been informed by their main sponsor that there will be no more funding for them after August 2006. This leaves ‘Agape’ some £6000 per year adrift to feed, cloth, educate and provide a home for these 15 children. The Kaiya’s are afraid that if they cannot replace the funding then the children’s lives will again be disrupted as they are scattered to other homes if indeed there are homes for them to go to. We are calling on our readers to help us come to the aid of this home and to sponsor or help sponsor a child. If you feel that you could give £5, £10, £15 or more per month or could team up with others to help sponsor a child. Just a £1-00 a week given on a regular basis will make the difference to these children’s lives. Start today and talk to your prayer group or club.
